Nautilus College places emphasis on the strengths in provision of services to students.

These Include;

 

  • The creation of a small safe, supported environment,

  • Staff work with students on a basis of empowerment, rather than a model of power and control,

  • That access through education allows the inclusion of other support mechanisms.

The College also firmly believes in the following key principles of our school:

  • The student is the centre of the education plan, and all plans revolve around the needs of the student educationally, emotionally and socially,

  • That there is rigor in the educational program provided,

  • Life Skills assist to remove barriers to education and employment.

 

 

We have up to 60 places available across years 7, 8, 9 & 10

Courses on offer

Year 10

 

We offer the opportunity for students to enter into Year 10 and complete the RoSA – Record of School Achievement.  In addition to this school outcome, Nautilus has a very strong focus on Vocational Education and Training and provides all students the opportunity of consistent work experience teamed with a nationally accredited qualification that may lead to employment or further study.

Students must have completed a minimum of 6mths of Year 9 or equivalent.

 

Year 9

 

Nautilus College offers a limited number of places in Year 9.  This course is to prepare students to undertake the RoSA in the following year.

At Nautilus we have the ability to tailor a student’s program to their capabilities.  We also offer  Generic Life Skills depending on their needs.

Year 7 and Year 8

 

From 2022 Nautilus College offers a limited number of places in Year 7 and 8. This offer, focusses on Stage 4 curriculum but also aims to re-engage students back to education

We focus on a blend of academic and practical education opportunities.

Subjects/curriculum

At Nautilus College we have the ability to tailor a student’s program to their capabilities.  We are registered and accredited to offer students  General Curriculum Subjects. We also provide  Generic Life Skills, depending on student needs.

Years 9 & 10

We offer students the opportunity to gain accreditation in an NSW  ROSA accreditation just as they would in any other traditional school.

 

  • English

  • Maths

  • Science

  • PDHPE

  • Geography

  • History

As well as Extra Curricula opportunities in​:

  • Community & Vocational Education and Work Experience

Years 7 & 8

We offer students the opportunity to meet mandatory requirements for Stage 4 to assist them to transition to Stage 5.
